| Come to LIGO for an unusual astronomy event!|

On Friday night, May 23, the Earth will pass through the debris trail of comet 209P/LINEAR for the first time, creating a short but possibly intense meteor shower. Join LIGO and the Tri-City Astronomy Club to view the meteor shower at LIGO's dark facility. All ages are welcome!
- Doors open at 8:30 PM
- The shower should be visible in clear skies by 11:00 PM and should peak just after midnight.
- Look through Tri-City Astronomy Club telescopes while waiting for the meteors
- What to bring: Warm clothing; lawn chairs, folding chairs, folding recliners, blankets for reclining or other items that will help you look upward for long periods of time.
- What not to bring: Flashlights, phone screens, flash photography or other sources of bright light.
