The former Hanford Bus parking lot is on the West side of
Stevens drive, north of Spengler street, in Richland. This can be reached
from Richland by taking Jadwin Avenue north, which turns into Stevens Drive.
Alternatively, take highway 240 northbound around Richland (a.k.a. "the Richland
bypass highway"), up to the traffic light in North Richland where 240 makes
a sudden turn to the left. You will see signs indicating that highway 240
turns left (toward Vantage) and Hanford is straight ahead through the traffic
light. Follow the "Hanford" direction straight through the light which will
drop you onto Stevens Drive. Either way, the West side of Stevens Drive
is to your left.
People somewhat familiar with that area may remember the bus shelters in
that lot and be confused to see that they are gone. The Port of Benton gave
these shelters to Ben Franklin Transit to integrate elsewhere into the bus
system.
Parking your car here and taking the free bus to LIGO on April 24 will help
relieve congestion and parking at LIGO.
