Build FrameXmit

change into a directory 'dir' where you want to add the library
gunzip/untar framexmit-3.1.tar.gz 
this will create a directory 'dir'/framexmit

Compile framexmit

Type:
    cd 'dir'/framexmit
    ./configure 'target' [-options]
    make

Get a list of available targets/options with: ./configure --help
Generated documentation (needs doc++) with: make doc

Libraries are in 'dir'/framexmit/lib
Documentation is in 'dir'/framexmit/doc
              or at http://www.ligo-wa.caltech.edu/gds/framexmit
Binaries (test files) are in: 'dir'/framexmit/bin

Install framexmit

Type:
    cd 'dir'/framexmit
    make install
    
This will install include files, shared libraries, binaries and 
documentation in the installtion paths specified during 
configure.
