Teachers' Corner -- Teacher Internships at LIGO Hanford Observatory
LIGO hosts two teacher summer internships at each Observatory through the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program. The six-week RET internships allow teachers to engage in LIGO-related research in collaboration with LIGO staff members. Participants also plan for the classroom implementation of a portion of their summer learning. Teachers from any level in the K-12 system are eligible to apply. Stipends are based on a teacher's currrent salary. Read the RET FAQ's to learn more about LIGO Hanford teacher internships. Teachers who wish to apply may use the application form provided below. Do you have additional questions? Feel free to send an email to outreach(at)ligo-wa.caltech.edu or call our outreach coordinator at 509-372-8248. The deadline for summer 2013 RET applications is March 22, 2013.
