Calibration
Punchlist
Validation material for calibration release:
Models
- compare model open loop gain against measurement, with model/data
ratio out to several kHz; minimize residuals in magnitude and phase
with the unity gain frequency and time-delay parameters,
respectively.
Clearly define this comparison (e.g. define frequency range and use
standard script)
- further adjust, if necessary G_0 such that alpha and gamma
factors have null imaginary parts
- when updating IFO parameter files, include comment on pedigree of
measurement, and include an elog pointer
- tag the release of the calibration and products under CVS, with
the format "Sm_Vn_?_?"
ASCII reference functions
- compare propogated model output to Autocalibrator
- naming convention appropriate? comment fields appropriate?
- WriteCalFiles should include "test" flag to write out files to
temp directory for validations
- reproduce all ASCII files under CVS, check with diff function
ASCII factor files
- ensure factors alpha and gamma are real and unity at reference
time
- naming convention appropriate? comment fields appropriate?
Frame versions of reference functions
- ensure reference functions in frames match ASCII ones
- naming convention appropriate? comment fields appropriate?
- check md5 checksums after submission to CVS
Frame versions of factors
- ensure alpha and gamma factors in frames match ASCII ones
- naming convention appropriate? comment fields appropriate?
- check md5 checksums after submission to CVS
Validation of search group cal usage
- check on LAL calibration code: When a tagged calibration version
is available from CVS, the chairs of DASWG and the Calibration team
will be responsible to check that LALUpdateResponse() performs
correctly and tag with the calibration release tag once that test is
satisfied
- search groups should use their search-specific calibration method
to replicate the official strains, as validation on that method
- search groups should
use their search-specific calibration method to replicate the official
sample propagated response function(s). These propagated response
functions will be produced for validation/comparison by the search
groups; write Matlab script to do this
- ensure signs of calibration appropriate via pulsar and stochastic
injections
- cal team rep should attend a search review meeting and vet
calibration procedure?
